| Description: | Salisbury City Band is proud to be holding their annual Solo 'Slow Melody Competition' once again on SUNDAY 2nd of June 2024. Please find all the information required to enter into our competition attached, including sectional descriptions for application. Members of your band who might be interested in joining the competition please return your entry form to Salisbury City Band by FRIDAY 17th of May 2024. Please note that at this stage, this competition is a solo competition for brass instruments only and those who play in a concert band are encouraged to enter our orchestral section (i.e french horn and trumpet). School students are also encouraged to apply so please consider forwarding this through to any school music departments or contacts who have students looking for performance experience. Trophies awarded to the winners of the 2023 competition need to be returned before the competition, if possible. We would appreciate your help in encouraging known recipients to return these and are happy to arrange a pick-up so we can ensure this year's competition winners get to take their rightfully deserved trophy home on the day of competition. We have experienced difficulties in getting these back from time-to-time so any support you can offer is greatly appreciated. We look forward to hosting you for our annual competition.
